Chapter 3. SafeSFS Administration

SafeSFS Administrators are users that are authorized to control the SafeSFS product and its functions. The authorization required to be a SafeSFS Administrator is called SAFADMIN and is specified via the SAFADMIN control record. If a userid is listed on a SAFADMIN record in the SAFESFS CONTROL file, that user is a SafeSFS Administrator, and is authorized for all SafeSFS functions requiring SAFADMIN authorization.

Typically, the tasks performed by SafeSFS Administrators include: defining SafeSFS Managers, security management for SafeSFS and SFS at the global level, managing SafeSFS audit information, and managing the SAFESFS CONTROL and SAFESFS MANAGE files. These tasks are described later in this chapter.
