Chapter 12. SafeSFS Auditing

SafeSFS provides auditing of all SafeSFS commands and, optionally, SFS authorization requests. SafeSFS command audit information is collected in a file on the SafeSFS data base disk called SAFESFS CMDAUDIT. SafeSFS SFS authorization request audit information is written to a spool file on each SFS server named SAFESFS SFSAUDIT.

To collect the SafeSFS audit information, first issue the SAFESFS AUDIT CLOSE command. This will cause the SAFESFS CMDAUDIT file and a SAFESFS SFSAUDIT file for each SFS server to be sent to the reader of the issuing user. The SAFESFS CMDAUDIT and SAFESFS SFSAUDIT files are purged. Second, run the SAFEGAUD utility to: retrieve the audit data from the reader, format, sort by date/time, merge, and write it to the A disk. SAFEGAUD creates the SAFESFS SFSAUDIT and the SAFESFS CMDAUDIT files on the issuing user's A disk. The record format for these files is described below.
